What's for Breakfast
A lot of people are just not hungry first thing in the morning, I'm like that sometimes. This is a breakfast shake I found on a carton. I adjusted it a little bit to suite my tastes. It's tasty, creamy. It sticks with me through the morning because of the fiber and protein from the flax, Almond butter & protein powder. Yes, there is fat, there is no escaping that especially when using Almond butter. I choose wisely where I allow certain fats into my nutrition & this is one I choose! :-)
1 small banana
1 cup unsweetened Almond Coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 generous tsp's unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 generous or 2 level TBSP creamy Almond butter
1 cup ice cubes
Blend until nice and creamy...THEN add in:
1 scoop protein powder (I use Swanson Ultra grass-fed Certified rBGH-free Vanilla whey protein**)
1 scoop ground golden flax seed (I use whole for freshness & grind it in a coffee grinder as needed)
SLOW blend just to mix...if you blend on high again, it may get frothy.
If it's too thick, I add in a bit of h2o to get the consistency I like.
***Swanson is available to everyone on line. It's easy to order from, high quality & very reasonably priced. I learned about Swanson health products about 12 years ago from a highly trusted colleague. Go to:

**I choose Whey protein concentrate and don't use, nor do I recommend my family use Soy based protein powders or products. I've made this health choice due to significant research through the years. Fermented soy products (such as Tempeh) are a different story. I encourage everyone to embrace the Self Healthcare life style and research the topic.
Cheers!
