At least 100 research studies have been completed and documented demonstrating the effectiveness of HT on a wide variety of health issues. Over the years, I've provided HT treatment to hundreds of people for post surgical or uncontrolled pain, relief from cancer treatment symptoms, head aches, comfort at end of life, PTSD etc...To understand more, below you'll find a short form of the information I provide to anyone receiving HT. At the end of this post, you'll find a link recently posted by the Healing Touch Program, providing you with a wonderful Self Healthcare technique!
Healing Touch (HT) is a non-intrusive therapy developed through the nursing profession to facilitate the client’s health and healing. It is an integrative, biofield therapy that has an energy-based approach to health and healing. HT techniques involve light touch and/or hands in motion near the body, working with the person’s energy – which is typically experienced as a state of deep relaxation.
Healing Touch can be particularly helpful in managing issues of pain and other symptoms that can accompany surgery or debilitating health issues.
Research studies funded and supported by the National Institutes of Health, and multiple health care facilities through out the United States, indicate that Healing Touch aides in a variety of issues including:
• Pain reduction and management
• Post operative recovery
• Strengthening of the immune system
• Reduction of stress, anxiety and depression
• Provides physical, emotional and spiritual support during cancer treatment
• Reduces the effects of trauma and chronic pain
• Stimulates the bodies natural healing abilities
• Triggers the relaxation response in the body
HT is accepted, validated and used through out the United States and internationally, in facilities such as:
• Hospitals (including pre & post surgery treatment)
• Long term care
• Hospice
HT treatment is recommended for reasons including but not limited to the following:
• Minimize and manage pain
• Reduce anxiety, stress, and depression
• Relieve nausea
• Facilitation of wound healing
• Enhance post operative recovery
