People suffering from pain, particularly back pain, will often be instructed to "strengthen your core!". While weakness in the front body may be a piece of the puzzle, more often I've found (both in my personal experiences as well as in the treatment room) that the more prominent issue is a lack of strength and stability in the back body. We live in a forward flexed/hunched back posture so much of the time that our brains and bodies perceive this posture as "normal".
