Get Juicing! :-)
Happy New Year everyone! It's still January so I can say that :-)
Anyone picking up juicing for the New Year? I've been a juicer for 13 years and have a great website for you to check out called: rebootwithjoe.com. You may recognize this from a documentary I mentioned in an earlier post, "Fat Sick And Nearly Dead". This website is filled with encouragement to keep you motivated in adding juicing to your day. You will find lots of recipes AND they include nutritional content, I really love that part! I would really encourage anyone getting started to remember to focus on greens and veggies, using fruits sparingly due to the sugar content ie. just add 1 fruit, or smaller amounts of 2 fruits (unless the fruit is blueberries or granny smith apples). Granny smith apples are nice to use as they are lower in sugar and due to their tart nature, have other health benefits. Also, adding parsley, lemon juice and/or fresh ginger to the mix is excellent for detoxing as well as imparting a bit of spice to the flavor (and makes the flavor less sweet if you happened over fruit your juice). One last thing...if you make carrot juice be sure to cut it 50/50 with water when you drink it (it's easier on your pancreas).
