Calm In The Present Moment
Centering and grounding before providing care, or as a non-practitioner, before moving forward into your day, is essential to feeling calm.
Under Points to Ponder, I've just posted one of my favorite quotes. I love this quote because it best describes one of the many methods I use to ground and center myself before working with clients. My work as an Occupational and Manual Therapist places me in the presence of people who are frequently not well grounded in the present moment. They are suffering. They understandably, are often preoccupied with events of the past or future. They certainly tend to forget that the only power or control they have lays in the present. It is critical for me as a practitioner to ground and center so that the separation between “my stuff” and the “their stuff” remains solid.
Peace to your day!
